Karyo-geographical analysis of Armenian flora

Approximately 3,800 species of vascular plants have been registered in the flora Armenia, which 789 chromosome numbers are known. Additionally, many several cytoraces Armenia (a total 898 were recorded). These analysed from a phytogeographical point view. Their distribution by floristic regions republic, altitudinal zones, and vegetation type has revealed. Geographical elements established based on general distribution. As result analysis, it was found that Armenian formed over long period, starting Tertiary is composed nearly equal proportions migrants Boreal Ancient Mediterranean sub-kingdoms, Highlands Greater Caucasus. A significant percentage endemics (mainly neoendemics) indicate territory also an arena intensive formation speciation. At same time, large karyological diversity among whose confined to or its parts, including Armeno-Iranian province, indicates speciation took place these territories. The “northern root” species, Caucasian, came mainly form karyologically stable cytoraces.
